Who we are

The trust is a charitable trust established on 15 October 2010.

The objectives of the trust are to ensure the maintenance and enhancement of war memorials within the city of Norwich and, in particular, to ensure that the principal war memorial and the Memorial Gardens associated with it in St Peter's Street, Norwich are kept in a condition appropriate for their status as a focus for remembrance to thereby promote remembrance of those who have fallen in war.

The Trust acts as a ‘critical friend’ to help, advise and, if necessary, lobby in respect of the upkeep of the publicly owned and maintained war memorials. The responsibility for maintenance of the memorials rests with Norwich City Council. However, the Trust aims to raise funds and receive donations, which it will use to promote and enhance the war memorials.
